Andrea

Leadership & Self-Development Coach

Dedicated to helping others reach personal and professional goals

I’ve always had the wish to remove the difficulties which stop us from being our best. Someone may have huge potential but internal obstacles create blocks. Indecision, self-limiting beliefs, difficulties with one’s job, worry, a health or relationship challenge, the inability to find satisfying work, or just the twists and turns on life’s path keep getting in the way. I have a reputation for being honest, direct, warm, compassionate, intuitive, quick to understand another’s point of view and challenges, and skillful at facilitating solutions. Clients consistently say that I find the useful positive spin, the learning edge for them, even when things are tough. No matter what concern they bring to our work, they feel clearer, strengthened by a new perspective and ready to move forward. I was never much of a rearview-mirror therapist so my transition to coaching gave me the chance to use my solution-focused orientation in the most effective ways to help clients take more directed action on their own behalf.

This is my story

one summer…

when I was 12, my parents sent me away for 8 weeks of hiking and camping in New England. The only problem: I didn’t want to go. But after one week, I wrote home begging to stay for the extra 9th week. What happened? I made fast friends. I felt free in the mountains, woods, and streams. I used my body, felt healthy and vital. But the most powerful for me was one moment walking alone. I looked up and saw raindrops on leaves. I stopped. I saw the droplets. Though I’d walked through rain for years, I’d never seen it before. Those early moments of being present to seeing held the core values that have driven my life: being present to what is, awareness – seeing what is – beauty, and truth. That understanding began the through-line of experience that thumps for me like a beating heart to this day.

Our work together clarified my core values and provided the support I needed to make leaps personally and professionally. Andrea’s candor encouraged me to be systematic in my work and her skilled listening and insight created a comfort and trust you might expect from knowing someone for years. Perhaps most importantly, her guidance helped reveal my strengths and created a base for ambition and focus I didn’t know I had. Andrea is especially skilled at cultivating a calm outlook and teaching how that calmness can be a place of untold discovery and opportunity. In some ways she folds time – enabling you to accomplish more, with more depth, health and balance, even with more sleep at night – all while not adding a single minute to the day. In the end, my work with Andrea has been some of the most transformative of my life. Andrea is a gifted coach. I would recommend her to anyone who is ready to discover a new capacity for ambition, generosity, productivity and happiness.
